Internship
What do you have planned for your the next year of your life? Is it exciting? Is it challenging? Is it gonna make you grow? Is it fun? Will it be creative? Is it gonna shape your life? Will you be different by the end of it? How will it benefit you? How much will it cost? Is it worth it? Why not invest in yourself? Why not grow yourself? Why not make a point to allow your life to be changed?
Positive Youth has a yearly internship. It is a practical course where you experience first hand work with young people. You are faced with an inner city, multicultural, diverse community of young people between the ages of 11-18. It is an extremely exciting year with all sorts of things going on; from running messy games on Friday nights to planning the next teaching set for our youth’s Sunday teaching. You will be giving a set or multiple sets of tasks to complete, and you will be expected to complete them in a given time, if you don’t you will be held responsible. This internship is designed to help develop you as a person and as a follower of Christ. It is hard at times, but that’s intended to stretch you so you grow. Also, if you give this year of your life to God, God will surely give back into your life.
Based on your particular skills you will be put in charge of different areas and may handle different teams. You will need to learn to be more than just efficient but also to be resourceful. You can see by looking around our website the different things we do, from Schools Work, to Outreach, to pastoral care, to trips, to mission, to huge Events, so there are plenty of areas for you to get involved in and train yourself in. The Positive Youth Internship is an amazing way to develop yourself. If you have a passion for God’s will, and a desire to serve hands on in a community, than you need to consider doing an internship with us.
This internship is available for anyone over the age of 18. The hours are typically 9am – 5pm : Monday – Friday, but other times are included as well (i.e. Saturday Outreach, Friday Youth, other youth events [FUEL], meetings, etc.). The year runs with the school year, so starts in September and finishes August the next year. If you are between the age of 16 ad 18 you will need to have a meeting with us with your parent/guardian, and we’ll see if this year is the right step for you.
If you’re interested in finding out more, don’t hesitate to contact us. We can arrange a meeting with you and then latter an interview if things go well.
